Not What It Seems
They seem so ordinary: a simple trader, rusty water from a faucet, a drunk, a young woman, a box of breakfast cereal. Wait. Read further.
Things are not what they seem.
Each of the stories in this issue contains characters and settings with something very different about them. And it’s not always apparent where that difference lies. Sometimes it is obvious that something is amiss, but is it what you think is skewed? Or must you dig deeper?
Whether they contain the odd, extrapolated results of a shiny idea or an inevitable surprise, we hope you find theses stories engaging. And if they cause you to look twice at ordinary people and objects and say, “What if?” we will not be surprised.
