How You Kept Saving my Life
Before the sickness
claimed most of my crew
and you; and later when
micrometeors breached the hull,
when the FTL fuel system failed,
when pirates stole the cargo,
and more—you told me
to take a breath,
and work the problem.
Each time I did. And now,
decades later with death
by my bedside, I will release
that breath and once again
be with you.
