A&A reviews Death on Omega Station

Death on Omega Station (eSpec Books)

by John L. French

Former crime scene supervisor John L. French writes compelling murder mysteries, whether they involve supernatural beings or—in this case—aliens.

Omega Station was built by a long-forgotten civilization, and is neutral ground to the six sentient races of the Collective who are currently discussing problems with the sort of FTL drive and ships they use (this alone is not only fascinating but worth the price of the book as it’s very original). Omega Station houses all of their ambassadors to the other races. And then one of the ambassadors is murdered. Humans are the only race with detectives, which the other races translate as “truth detectors.”

Human detective Adrian Cray and his new alien partner quickly learn that the ambassador’s death is part of a deeper, more vicious conspiracy that could tear interstellar relations apart. It’s very well done and I ordered a paperback copy rather than just be content with my review of PDF. Two thumbs up, way up, for this book.
